Flooring doesn’t only go on flat surfaces, and, in some cases, you may need to add flooring to your stairs. Our selection of stair parts includes stair treads and risers in all basic types of wood. Stair treads, if you don’t know, are the part of the stair case you step on, while risers are the parts in between. When needing to place one or the other, we carry both types of stair parts in all basic types of unfinished wood. This includes various domestic and exotic woods, such as red and white oak, hickory, and Brazilian cherry, to name a few.
Like our selection of hardwood flooring, our stair parts come as unfinished wood. However, when ordering either stair treads or risers, they can be prefinished for an upgrade. Unfinished hardwood, even as stair parts, is more ideal for making partial replacements, such as replacing only the material on your stairs but not the floor. If you’re replacing all the wood on the floor and stairs, ordering prefinished stair parts, in addition to flooring, reduces installation time, as none of the parts will need to be finished or sealed after laying them out. Regardless, whether you need hickory or oak stair parts, the treads and risers are available in prefinished and unfinished versions.
