Description
This 2 1/4" Red Oak Character Grade 3/4" thick Rift & Quartered engineered hardwood flooring is perfect for those wanting to display the natural characteristics of a real hardwood floor. Character grade is a mix of about 80% #1 Common and 20% #2 Common to display the knots and color variation that is desired.
Rift & Quartered - This sawing method produces a unique grain pattern while also increasing hardness and stability to minimize expansion and contraction. Rift Sawn boards display very tight, straight grain, while Quarter Sawn boards display the prominent "ribbon & flake" pattern they are desired for, as well as tight grain. Due to its increased stability, this flooring is a great choice when installed over approved radiant heat systems.
